Stories from Business Travelers to Russia
Organizations with extensive experience in Russia frequently
come to us for their travel arrangements. They value the fact
that they don't have to spend time "educating" us
about conditions in Russia; we already understand them. We understand
the logistical difficulties of assembling people from around
the world in the CIS when flights from many countries only operate
to Russia on selected days each week. Among our clients are
the Pacific Environment, which has extensive programs in Siberia
and the Far East; Earth Island Institute, which runs ecological
programs in the Lake Baikal area; and Heart to Heart, which
provides medical assistance for children in St. Petersburg.
We recently worked with an American attorney who needed
to travel to Russia on behalf of his clients. He was traveling
with others from the United States, although we handled only
his travel arrangements. We cleared airline waiting lists
for our client, even though his traveling companions could
not obtain seats - despite the fact that they had put their
names on the waiting lists earlier. We were able to do this
because of our special relationship with airlines on which
we frequently book travelers. We also advised our client on
customs and currency regulations, as well as current business
conditions.
Another client needed to visit several Siberian cities
to evaluate hospitals. We arranged international travel
for persons in different cities, organizing overnight hotel
accommodations and airport transfers. We also arranged for
tickets on the Trans-Siberian Railroad to Ulan-Ude and Irkutsk.
